"Daisy, give yourself away..."
For all redemptive motion, and every rainy day...
Name:The Hardcore Hippie Nun
Location:California, United States
LJ Talk:
AOL IM:AIM status KachitaWarrior (Add Buddy, Send Message)
Bio:Things that I tend to ramble about, in no particular order:
1. God - My deepest and greatest Love.
2. School - The bane of my existence. (Well…eh, it’s probably not all that bad, but it’s fun to rant about.)
3. Anti-social issues - See definition below.
4. Poetry – Soul-wings. Eliot and Hopkins in particular, when I can get my hands on them.
5. Books – I eat them. Most often discussed are Wheel of Time, Harry Potter, and whatever they’re making us read in school at the time.
6. Music – Heh, yes, lots of music. Lots of LOOONG rants on music. The majority of highs in my life come from music.
7. My OCD – Heh. Zippers. ^.^
8. Bottles - I am a rabid recycler. And by that I mean that I have recycled over 16,000 bottles in a span of about four years. But maybe that should fall under the OCD…
9. Superheroes, video games, and other influences of my little brothers. My mother blames them for the way I turned out.
10. Nature – Sunrises and sunsets and birds and flowers and…well, yes, I am a hippie nun.

I am:
1. A redhead. You may think that’s irrelevant, but you’d be surprised how much it has to do with my identity.
2. Anti-princess. With the exception of Belle, from Beauty and the Beast. She falls in love NOT because her prince is handsome or has a gorgeous singing voice, but because of who he really is behind the beast-y exterior. Plus, Belle reads.
3. A starving writer in training.
4. An easygoing nonconformist.
5. An amiably insane rail-slider.
6. A zealous phonetiomaniac.
7. A half-vegetarian pacifist.
8. A javelin-swinging Kachita Warrior.
9. A hardcore hippie nun.
10. Simultaneously a dreamer and a realist.
11. Mildly obsessive compulsive. Which means I do obsessive things…compulsively. ^.~ This usually manifests in fixations with the horizontal zippers on the sides of cargo pants, and bottle collecting and recycling, and counting the number of words that certain individuals say to me, and making random lists.
12. In love with Spider-Man. Don’t let anyone give you this nonsense about Mary Jane. I had him first. Plus, Kirsten Dunst is a fake redhead. :P
13. A tie between the ENFJ and INFJ, for those with knowledge of the Myers-Briggs test. (http://similarminds.com/myers-briggs-jung.html)
14. The oldest of four children, and the only daughter. Again, more important than you think.
15. Very longwinded, at least over paper and the Internet. In case you didn’t notice. ^.~

Pesonal definitions that are probably worth explaining:
NUN: No, I’m not really planning on spending the rest of my life in a real, actual convent. In fact, I’m not even Catholic. I love boys, but I think that high school relationships are overrated. The complications of relationships in general are sticky, and there are times when I think I would be better off avoiding them entirely. That’s when I camp out in my pretty proverbial abbey, complete with expansive garden, windchimes, and friendly woodland animals waiting to be serenaded by me and my guitar. ^.^

RELIGIOUS: I tell a lot of people that I’m not religious, and it confuses them, because I’m a Christian and most people who know me are aware of that. “Religion” has come to mean stringent rules and morality, and that is not what the Gospel is about. That is not what Jesus is about. Jesus came to love the broken, to heal the hurting, and set the captives free. The core of Christianity is not about staying in the lines and following the regulations (which is what most people associate with “religion”). It is one of the most freeing, radical, vibrant, beautiful things that I’ve ever experienced, and “don’t cuss” “be modest” and “be good” do not do it justice. It’s not about being good enough. It’s about being in Love, Real Love, the deepest and truest kind of Love that there is. It’s about God sacrificing everything to rescue a world that is severely messed up, and turning it into the radiant beauty that it was meant to be.

HALF-VEGETARIAN: Umm, yeah. I cheat on this one a little. If I liked meat less, I would be a full-fledged vegetarian, but alas, the hamburger beckons me. Basically, I don’t eat deer, lamb, or anything that flies. For entirely sentimental reasons. Have you ever seen a baby lamb? Or any kind of deer, for that matter – they are the most gentle, innocent creatures. And it just seems like such a crime to shoot down something that’s soaring through the air. I’ll never forget seeing a flock of geese fly overhead in perfect formation one day when I was with my cousin. “Isn’t that amazing?” I asked him, staring up at the sky. “Yeah, let me get my gun!” he eagerly replied. After that, I didn’t eat anything that flies.

ANTI-SOCIAL: I don’t mean this in the homicidal, harmful-to-the-welfare-of-the-general-populace way. For me, it has always been what it looks like – the opposite of social. Social in the outward sense, going to dances and getting involved in school spirit and pep rallies. It doesn’t mean unfriendly – the majority of anti-social kids that I’ve known are outgoing, lively, and very personable. So maybe, when it comes down to it, it’s rebelling against the typical, the ordinary, the expected, and – of course – the ASB bureaucracy. ^.~

PREPPY: Well, if I told you that one, I’d have to kill you.

"I'm anti-social, they say. I don't mix. It's so strange. I'm very social indeed. It all depends on what you mean by social, doesn't it? ...Being with people is nice...but we never ask questions, they just run the answers at you. People don't talk about anything. They name a lot of cars or clothes and say how swell! But they all say the same things and nobody says anything different from anyone else. I guess I'm everything they say I am, all right." -- Clarisse, Fahrenheit 451

"It is possible that God says every morning, "Do it again" to the sun; and every evening, "Do it again" to the moon. It may not be automatic necessity that makes all daisies alike; it may be that God makes every daisy separately, but has never gotten tired of making them...for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we." -- GK Chesterton

"It is always shocking to meet life where we thought we were alone. An 'impersonal god' - well and good. A subjective god of beauty, truth, and goodness, inside our own heads - better still. A formless life-force surging through us, a vast power which we can tap - best of all. But God Himself, alive, pulling at the other end of the cord, perhaps approaching at an infinite speed, the Hunter, King, Husband - that is quite another matter. ...There comes a moment when people who have been dabbling in religion ('Man's search for God!') suddenly draw back. Supposing we really found Him? We never meant it to come to that! Worse still...supposing He had found us?" -- CS Lewis

"It is never too late to be what you might have been." -- George Eliot

"I have found the paradox that if I love until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love." -- Mother Teresa

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do that, because the world needs more people who have come alive." -- Harold Whitman

"They say You live in hospitals and trenches and towers in the sky. Well, I'm not dying or fighting any wars. At least not on the outside."

"The truth is a river where the strong can swim in deep, and the weak and the broken can walk across so easily."

-- Caedmon's Call

You scored as The Yellow Ajah.

You are best suited for the Yellow Ajah. Also known as “The Healing Ajah”, these Aes Sedai are healers. Unfortunately for science they are generally not accustomed to change. The current weaves they use to heal are the same ones they used at the time of the Breaking. When Aes Sedai are first introduced to The Tower, they are cautioned that experimentation can kill, so they do not often try new skills.
